We work on ball handling fundamentals. Our drills help players improve their ball control, and we ready campers for game situations. We ensure that technique is correct and the players are skilled with both hands.
Our campers not only learn the importance of taking care of their bodies and staying in shape, but they learn how to do it. We work on mental physical and mental conditioning. We stress self-control, and teach mind-body connectivity through breathing exercises and meditation.
Defense is often an overlooked facet of the game of basketball. Too many players are clueless about how to guard and lack an understanding of how to read an opponent. A player that can defend will stay on the floor. Beside skill we instill the will to guard.
Good passers are hard to find in basketball, mainly because everyone wants to be a shooter. Ask any coach though, a willing passer will always make the team. Our campers will learn how to throw the (4) basic passes and go through drills that will allow them to display their mastery.
We start with the basics and help our campers understand the mechanics of a good shot. From the feet to follow through our young players will understand how much technique and repetition go into their favorite shooters stroke.
We teach players to lead themselves, be good teammates, and put the team above the individual. These important characteristics also lead to success off of the court. During our camps, The life lessons taught via FSC leadership will leave a lasting impact on our campers and help them perform well socially and beyond.
They say the hips don't lie, but it's actually the feet that don't lie in basketball. Good footwork is essential for having success in every aspect of basketball...except maybe fouling out. Not only do we drill on our players for good footwork, but we also put them in game situations where footwork comes into play.
Good character and sportsmanship are evidenced in a players attitude, ability to communicate and willingness to work for what they want. We ensure that our campers display team work, positive attitudes and good communication. Take a look at our FSC Pledge to get a sense of what we start each session with.
